Using and Removing

You can prepare your nails for press-on nails by trimming them, filling the edges to shape, and by buffing them smooth.

Step 1: Size your nails to the tips and set them aside! If some are slightly bigger than your nails, feel free to use the file to shape the sides/cuticle area down!

Step 2: Get the nails prepped! If you have some length on your nails, cut them down. Use the white nail file to buff the surface of your nail (lightly). The goal here is to make sure there is no shine left on the top of the nails. Why? Because the glue is going to act like velcro! If the nail is smooth and shiny, the glued nails won’t stick to the nail as well. So get that shine off! Take the buffer after to gently buff any areas over that the file didn’t get. Once that is done, cleanse your nails with the alcohol wipe! Get all of that dust off.

Step 3: Let’s get the nails on! The key is to do one nail at a time! Get the nail ready to put on. Apply appropriate size of adhesive tab onto clean nail as close to cuticle as possible. Once the adhesive tab is on, take the press on nail and press it down at a 45 degree angle at the cuticle first then press down through to the whole nail. Press down firmly for 20 seconds. Repeat on the rest of the fingers.

Step 1: For easier removal, massage your around your nails with cuticle oil (optional)
Step 2: Soak nails in warm, soapy water for 10-15 minutes. Add a few drops of cuticle oil if desired
Step 3: Carefully lift up your press-on nails with the cuticle stick provided
gently peel off adhesive tabs with tweezers and store press on nails for reuse

Press on nails are artificial nails made of acrylic resin, gel or ABS plastic and painted with nail polish. If you have ever gotten gel tip extensions at a nail salon, press-on nails are similar to those but they cover the whole nail bed.

The application is a simple process with glue or adhesive tab. They can last for just a weekend or up to two weeks which makes them a great option for special events, or if you need to limit your nail length for your job.

Press on nails typically stay for 5-7 days if you’re using glue, and 3-4 days if you’re using adhesive tabs depending on the lifestyle of the wearer and the natural oiliness of their nails.. Although, if you care for them right, they can hold on for up to 2 weeks.

It is not recommended to wear beyond 7 days. We recommend allowing your nails to rest for 2 days before applying a new set.

No, press on nails don’t damage your real nails as long as you follow proper application and removal procedures.

However, improper removal can lead to dryness and brittleness.

To avoid this, soak your nails in warm, soapy water for 10 mins or until the nails lift off easily. Then, use cuticle oil and a good hand moisturizer to rebalance your moisture levels.

No, press-on nails are not hard to remove. Some removal options can be found in the How To Remove You Press-On Nails section above.

Maintaining

Here are some general tips:

1. Rub down your nail beds with rubbing alcohol before layering the adhesive. This helps remove any oils, products, or residues, which allows for the adhesive to stick better to your nail or base coat.
2. Avoid getting your hands wet for at least 2 hours afterward. This allows the glue or adhesive to completely dry, which helps them stay on longer.
3. Avoid using your nails for damaging tasks that involve motions like picking and prying. For example, when opening a pop can use the side of your finger rather than your nails.

Press ons look the most natural when they are sized correctly. The sides should be wide enough to cover the natural nail but not going over the side walls. Combined with pushing back your cuticles, this will lead to a more polished, fashionable, and professional look.

Typically, yes! Whilst it will depend on how you wear your press on nails, they are normally able to be reused if worn and removed with care.

Please ensure that you remove any residual glue and adhesive tabs from the nail before reusing them.

Warm soapy water works great! Feel free to use rubbing alcohol as well to wipe down the surface of the nail. That helps get rid of excess oils and helps make the nails shiny again!

Yes, you can shower with press-on nails. However, you can maximize your wear time by preventing your nails from becoming wet. You can try wearing gloves in the shower to accomplish this.

There could be a few reasons why your press on nails have fallen off. For example, you may have selected the wrong nail size or you might not have correctly prepared your nails.

Please consider the following suggestions to reduce the likelihood of your press on nails falling off:

Buff surface of your natural nail and wipe with alcohol wipes before application
Avoid water for three hours after application
If in between sizes, size down nails where necessary (nails that are too big are likely to pop off)
Press down press on nails firmly to remove any air pockets during application
Apply adhesive tabs as close to cuticle as possible

Press on nails stay on when you wash your hair, hands, face or go swimming but it is recommended not to for the first 3 hours or so after application so that you can get maximum wear out of your press on nails. The first few minutes right after application is when the adhesive can be “activated” by pressing as long as possible on your nails since they are pressure sensitive.
